GENERAL CONSULTING FOR CAMPAIGNS

When you hire Erwin and Muir you will work directly with two consultants who have a combined 25 years of experience, not passed off to a firm’s associate. You’ll be assured that we write and design the mail, create and manage the field program, and serve as media spokespersons. We put our experience to work for you. As your campaign consultants, we will create a winning strategy and help you implement it. Your winning strategy will include among many components:

  • Creative, effective direct mail and other media
  • A numbers-driven field plan
  • Earned and paid media programs
  • A campaign schedule that will keep you on message and on strategy

GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING

We excel at grassroots mobilizing for candidate, ballot initiative, charter amendment qualification, GOTV (get-out-the-vote), and vote-by-mail campaigns. We know how to harness the energy that surrounds a candidate or issue and move it in the right direction with a message to inspire action, solid planning, structure, persistence, attention to detail, and an understanding of the latest information technology.

Our record includes the success of Oakland’s Measure X (Strong Mayor Charter Amendment, 1998), San Francisco’s Prop R in 2002, and Prop M in 2003, and 2008 Measure H in Alameda (a parcel tax needing a 2/3 vote). We managed the highest-yield vote-by-mail campaigns in San Francisco, and we have never failed to meet a goal for petition qualification or vote-by-mail return rate.

DIRECT MAIL

Erwin and Muir creates direct mail pieces that are specific to the candidate or issue at hand, and places an emphasis on strong, quality images that grab readers’ attention and convey the message quickly and clearly.

A campaign has about two seconds to grab a voter’s attention. That’s why we work to produce unique, creative, eye-catching mail that provides voters with the information they need to make an informed choice on Election Day.

Each candidate or issue is different. We don’t produce cookie-cutter mail or recycle old pieces. We work with the entire campaign team to determine the message and deliver it in a compelling and effective way. If the voter only reads a headline, the message is clear. If he or she would like more information, it’s at his or her fingertips.

We have written and produced direct mail for candidates and clients locally and nationwide, including incumbents and first-time candidates. Our portfolio includes direct mail and vote-by-mail pieces on behalf of candidates for president, senate, congress, assembly, supervisor and city council. We have also produced direct mail for public affairs clients to help build community support for specific issues.
